Just 45 minutes outside of Frankfurt, Germany. The University town of Heidelberg, packs a punch with charming scenery and lots of attractions and activities to keep you happy for a few days. Situated in the Neckar Valley, Heidelberg is famed for a number of things.

Home to the largest wine barrel in the world. The longest pedestrian shopping street of any European Town /City, the glorious Heidelberg Palace and gardens and not forgetting the 3 tier Funicular railway to wizz you up the Königstuhl hill.

In this guide I will show you my top things to do around the Old Town, during a busy summer visit.
